Mixed Media Swap

That's the name of the newest swap I'm working on. You make 5 felt or fabric items and you get 5 back! I'm making lil coin purses. I'd never tried this patter before, but it turned out to be a great one. Really simple and fast, totally lined and easy to adjust the size smaller or larger.

So here's a peek at mine...

I'm wrapping up my current swap commitments and moving on to my own to-do lists for awhile. I've gotten so side tracked swapping, I've let me own scrapping kinda pile up.

Anyone who knows me WELL, knows I am NOT a jewelry fan!

Men hate it...lol...no easy gifts! I have my ears pierced twice, yet both remain empty except for family pictures or holidays (LOL) I seldom wear even my wedding rings, my hubby even bought me an anniversary band a few years ago...as a lure to get me to wear it more. I do put it on to leave the house, but it comes off before my shoes even when I return home!


Last year, a friend gave me this sweet charm and necklace, to fill with a picture of my daughter and the other side she made an insert saying "guard mom" (for Colorguard). I'd thought about it, but just never found the right photo. Today I finally got around to putting in a picture and I LOVE IT!!! I will wear it ALWAYS....(ok to every football game this season is more realistic) but that's an improvement!

There may be hope for me after all!

Girl Monday?

NOPE....It's Girl FRIDAY, one of my favorite new lines by Cosmo Cricket! I made this lil flip book album in a convention workshop at GASC last weekend. The class was alot of fun and taught by none other than STACI ETHERIDGE, fellow Texan and scrapbooker extraordinaire! She was a great teacher, very upbeat, but kept the instructions good from all levels of scrappers. (ok, except the ones behind us who decided about 5minutes in there were gonna "watch" instead of create"....what's up with that? I think they might have been "pretend scrapbookers").

Everyone who has seen the book LOVES it...My #1 fan on this creation was my daughter who gets to keep it, as I used it to record her Band Banquet event photos!

The local scrapbooking group I organize is doing a recipe swap for "Summer Recipes".
I finished mine early, thankfully! I'm typically an early bird...but lately been getting bogged down. I did a favorite recipe "Veggie Stuffed Peppers"....only 4 WW points for 2 halves...I can literally make a meal out of it! Hopefully the girls in the group will love it too.

Super Saturday!

Wow, today will be a busy day for us. We're heading out to a party with friends, to watch one of our favorite bands "The Will Callers"!!! It should be tons of fun, but I fear it will be oh so HOT also!

Friday already?

Wow...this week has FLOWN by for me. My girls left Tuesday for a few days with my parents on a trip to Fredericksburg. With all the excitement of GASC last weekend, and being so tired, I've been a BAD BLOGGER this week.

Here is a look at one of the projects I made at the convention in a class I took. The front and back covers are made with embossed metal...as technique I am now IN LOVE with! It also has several metal embossed elements as accents.

This week it the Great American Scrapbook convention in Arlington, Tx....just a few miles away. So I will be heading over there (everyday till Saturday)....but don't worry, I'll be back to post all my wonderful finds!

Wrapped up...

I finished up a swap tonight. I angeled a few spots in a 4x6 tag recipe swap. The theme was summer drinks. I did "Watermelon Sparklers" for one spot.

My second spot was "Coffee Whirls" and I will post them tomorrow!

Can't get enought!

I was recently approached about making a custom order of my cupcake charms. The gal is hosting a party and wanted to use them are wine glass charms. She picked her colors, and I like the combinations.

Since I was already making them, I made 2 extra sets, and I'm gonna throw them up on My Etsy. I thought it was a great idea for the lil cupcakey goodness!

Yup, I'm in "another swap"....lol, oh how I love them! This is a July 4th tag and charm swap on 2 peas of course! I've finished my tags and working to wrap up my charms. Hopefully I'll have them posted in a few days too...since they are due June 12

Something Fun

SO, my friends and I in me "Creative Outlet" scrapping group are doing our own "Biggest Loser" this summer. More fun and encouragement than competition...but we are all in for $20.00 each and the winner will get $200.00 in scrapbooking supplies.

I'm doing Weigh Watchers...It works and I know it...I find it a livable plan to follow.
So one of the things I do is write down what I eat. The other day on 2peas, I ran into a gal (on a message board...funny) who is doing a food & recipe journal also and was looking for a fun way to decorate the cover. Well, I have KittyCow on 2peas to thank...she found this cute pattern and was KIND enough to share it with me! I made it tonight and love it!!!

As the colorguard season wraps up for this year, I've been waiting for a good day to take her our in her costume from marching season and get some photos. The weather was finally nice and the sky a bit cloudy this weekend...perfect for photos!

That's exactly what my desk area looked like for a few days...arms here, a leg there, a torso or two. I've been working to complete my Vintage inchie dolls for a swap. Finished today, mailing tomorrow. We each signed up for a month, and I picked May. Can't wait to see what everyone came up with.

New-Do

I went Friday and cut my hair off...been dying to go, but just never remember to make an appointment. I haven't really learned how to style it yet....I'm not so good at that type thing. Guess that is why my hair has been long and straight for most my life.

MoRe DoTeE...

Working on my second Dotee Theme group now...Under the Sea.
I'm not done with the details here either...but do have some progress!

Yesterday I went to Day 2 of Water Aerobics...It went well but this morning I can definitely tell I've been doing something different..my back is a bit sore. I've slept like a rock the past 2 nights (an added lil bonus I guess) and I'm loving not waking up 10times a night!

Never be afraid

I tried something new...I joined a water aerobics class and went with a friend

for the 1st time today! It was a REALLY good time! I even almost forgot I was in a swimsuit.

As always I'm sure you ALL want to see pictures, I was hesitant at first...but ok...I'll be a good sport on this one....one picture, don't ask again!

Something NEW

I recently signed up for a new type of swap, they are called Dotee dolls (named after the gal Dot who created them). Little mini dolls, with hand stitched faces, lots of details, beads, charms, etc... fun stuff!

The swap I signed up for 3 different themes: In the forest, Under the Sea and Cupcake!

I started working on the Forest ones this morning, they are lil Mushrooms. I'm not done with them ...I've got a few more details to add, but here they are.

National Scrapbook Day

Wow! What a whirlwind weekend! I baked like wild woman from Wednesday to Friday in preparation for our NSD crop. 6 dozen cupcakes (Banana Split flavored, Pink Lemonade flavored, white) 3 dozen cupcake pops...and not ONE single picture! I''m sure someone else at the crop took pictures of the table, but I woke Friday morning with an awful headache and just wasn't on my "A" game with some other family distractions also.

I cropped Friday from 12 to 6pm, came home for a bit to nap and get rid of my headache then returned to crop from 9 till 4am. I returned again Saturday morning at 10 and stayed another 6hours. It was a really productive weekend, and I got to visit with friends and make a few new ones also!

I'll leave ya with a picture of my scrappin pal Vicki. She only got to come scrap Friday night. The poor thing was scheduled to leave for vacation Sunday morning to Disney. I'm sure she was very sad to leave {snort}! At least she will return with even more photos for memory making in scrapbooks!

Well, I've been BUSY!

I've unmounted ALL my wood mounted rubber stamps and organized them in CD cases, with scanned copies of the images they stamp.

I got my wonderful hubby to relocate my armoire to my scrappin room and I'm almost finished with cleaning out the drawers too!

This makes such a BIG different in the space required to store these stamps. I have too much money invested to just throw them out, but don't used them near enough to justify them taking up so much room. This is defiantly a fair solution and economical too.

Dressed in Blue...

Tonight was the Band Banquet and Katie has been excited all week - along with all her friends! Dressing up, hair and make-up...all so much fun! She looked so beautiful when I dropped her off tonight.

Over already?

This weekend we went to our extended families farm down in Whitney. It is always a fun time, good food and great fellowship! This weekend was NO exception. I took over 300 pictures in 48hours and FINALLY got the opportunity to stop at a few locations I have had my eye on for awhile to shoot some pictures.

Dollar Stamp Storage Solution

We the first hint would be...STOP buying them (lol)...but that just isn't realistic. Who can pass up these lil gems at only $1.00?

A few days ago I came across the BEST idea for storing them, it wasn't my idea, but something I read on my favorite website and message board, 2peas in a bucket! I wish I could remember who posted it...I am still hunting thru threads, but if you know leave me a comment so I can give that AWESOME gal proper credit! Baseball Card protective pages...they have 9 pockets per page and fit the $1.00 sets perfectly~

I am already loving this new system. So cheap and simple. Life just doesn't get any better..ok, that's a little extreme I know. But to a crafter, stamper, scrapbooker...easy organization for your loads of stuff (aka crap) is HUGE!

I bought my pages of ebay...as many of you who know me IRL know...Ebay is my go to for everything but groceries! My friend Katy told me her mom buys the pages locally at the major office supply stores.

Cupcake goodness

I've been playing around with some felt ideas for an upcoming "cupcake themed crop" for National Scrapbook Day. So far these are my 2 prototypes..lol Not sure if I will use them as pin cushions or a little wall hanging decoration.

Too much fun

Today is going to be a FUN filled day! Our scrapbooking group is having an all day crop in celebration for Katy's birthday!! I made a fun cake last night for her
...the theme for the crop is "Party like a rock star", so naturally the cake needed to match.

Katy is an awesome gal! She is a HUGE Bon Jovi fan. So, it is only fitting we celebrate her day in style. She is heading out soon actually to see her beloved BJ in Vega (lucky girl)!
