Worst Scrapbook Shopping Trip EVER!!!
Today I visited the store...I was pleased upon arrival that is seemed nice, clean, and quiet but cheery atmosphere. I enjoyed the selection off both paper lines and embellishments. After shopping the store for 30mins or so...I made my way to the cashier.
I didn't catch her name, but she was friendly. As she began scanning my papers. I noticed paper after paper ringing up $2.99, I mentioned this to her, and those papers were not among the papers marked prices other than the regular "all paper $0.69 unless marked otherwise" posted on signs throughout the store. She continued to scan; they continued to ring up wrong. She then asked to see where some came from...I showed her; she too agreed they were not among the marked-up papers. She then returned to the register, questioned another employee, ask if she knew how to over-ride prices.
Neither seemed very educated on the working of the cash register. They scanned a bit more paper, it continued to ring up every piece at $2.99, they then walk to the shelf area I had taken the first girl to check the prices. Upon their return, they told me they did not understand why the paper was ringing up like this and said I could leave my paper and name and number - and when they could find something out they would call me.I explained I was from Ft Worth and had driven 1 hour & 48minutes or 104 miles to visit this store...there was no way leaving the paper and waiting for a phone call was going to resolve this problem for me. They said they didn't know what else to do - and I left the store with NOTHING!!!
This was a totally frustrating situation for me, I drove 4 hours there and home, over 200 miles, $54.00 in gas, all my friends and fellow scrappers know I was going to visit this new store ? and all I have returned home with is a horror story to tell.

Getting back in the swing...
Last Friday, June 6th, my Scrap-A-Doodle pals and I went to the Great American Scrapbook Convention. We had so much darn fun! Tonya went a day early for classes and was able to scope out the entire convention floor of shops and lead us from store to store based on what we were looking for and who had the BEST Deals!! What a time saver she was - Thanks again Tonya!
We totally shopped til we dropped...my feet/legs hurt for days after walking for 6 hours. (they just aren't up to that abuse these days and so many surgeries later) I didn't go to overboard on spending...Tonya and I agree to bring cash - so we knew when we got to our self-imposed "limits" - I did use my debit card for about $60.00 in additional emergency purchases {lol}.

Neighborhood Napoleon Dynamite
Ok...if you've ever seen ND you know there is a scene where Napoleon's brother Kip want to be "pulled into town" via Napoleon peddling his bicycle.
While driving down our street last week we came across the funniest thing...a female Napoleon living right here among us! I ran home to get my camera and saw on a side street and waited for them to come by!!! My kids thought it was great...we love that movie! My girls look for her every time we leave the house now!

11 days
Eleven days is the number of day between when Jared graduated and is leaving today for his advanced training for the Army. He will fly out tonight - to Maryland. Thought this would be an appropriate time to share his graduation photos from June 1.

What a rush...
Last night we spent our evening at the Indy Race with friends. We live very close to the Texas Motor Speedway. Since the race didn't start till 8:30 - it was at least cooler that a typical Nascar race (even thought I prefer them). We had a great time, we took the girls with us (which we rarely do) but they seemed to enjoy it pretty well.

playing catch-up
I've fallen behind blogging and a ton of things have happened I need to update on here...
The other photo is Kate with 2 of her best gal pals...she's been close to them all thru Middle School. One is going to attend Central H.S. with Katie but the other will have to attend Keller H.S. - our school being divided for high school really stinks for these kids who have grown up together and get separated the last 4 years of their schooling!
