This is another peek into the history of my mom. This is her when she was a young girl. The pictures was taken at her birthday and she's showing off some fancy new dolls she had been given. Her mother obviously dressed her very nicely. She has told me and my girls stories about funny thing she often did to ruin these fancy dresses. Among the more funny stories are the 2 that involve climbing a fence and a kind woman (who would become her mother-in-law many years later) helping repair the dress so she wouldn't get in trouble and her attempt at making her own correction fluid (using bleach!)

What a cute picture! I love that you have fun stories of her childhood to share!
What a cute shot of her all dolled up with her dolls! :)
Another great nostalgia photo! Love that puffy skirt.
Wonderful photo. I love hearing my moms childhood stories too.
Sounds like a really great story!!
Love the dresses (all three of them!)
I love the flashbacks...I need to get some of my family to have. I love the history behind them and those cool styles too;)
What a cute story! Sweet picture.
oh that picture is so cute. i love it.
I love these classic photos...and the story is just priceless.
Oh how cute she is showing off her new dolls. Fun shot of your mom
LOVE this photo! I would have felt the same way about having to wear those dresses all the time like that. :)
Love it - so sweet!
she looks so sweet...love that dress!
How awesome to have pictures of your mom from that long ago. Love the story here.
Don't you just love looking through old photos. Great stories to go with.
What a great photo and story to go with it! How amazing that it was her future mo-in-law that helped her out! What year do you think this was taken in? Were her dresses all hand-made? I'm thinking the doll dresses must have been to match hers like that. This photo should be on the cover of a blurb book!
Frilly, but cute. ;)
Oh how funny is that, that her future MIL is the one who helped her out. Tooooo cute! I love her dress and her dolls. :)
