Fun is in the Cards!

...and family too for that matter! This was a fun little card to make. Using both stamps and fun printed paper....2 of my favorite things. Throw in a little ribbon to hold the tag and a dimensional pop dot for the family sentiment and you have yourself a card that could be used for multiple occasions.
If you like it and are interested in purchasing it, you can find it for sale in my Etsy store.

Boo to you!

I'm actually ahead of the holiday for once this Halloween! I'm excited to start working on teacher treats today. Most parents stop sending gifts after elementary, but I send them thru High School. Those teacher deal with so much drama from the kids...I think they need a little boost more than ever.
Here are a couple cards I worked on yesterday at the Scrappers Boutique!

I'm Back!

WOW, I can't believe it's been so long since I posted here. I was in a bit of a craft rut and felt like I had lost my mojo for awhile. Recently I am back crafting, cropping with friends and stepping back into the projects I love to work on.

Halloween is just around the corner! I thought I'd get started on a few spooky items.
So today I'm sharing with you a couple card I made using My Minds Eye paper, a bit of card stock and ribbon.

Adornit Blog Hop

I just love swapping and on the great people I've met and wonderful projects I have gotten from all over the world. I'm currently in a swap over at 2peas that is Lollipop Flowers, based on the recent Prima style that everyone loves.

Making these embellishment are much more rewarding in my opinion, as you can make them to match whatever project your working on.

I've used the Prima design, but replaced the paper with fabric. By cutting 3 circles, 3 sizes it makes for a really full and fun flower. I use alternating fabrics/colors and each layer is 2 of that size to make them nice and thick.

I begin by sewing each pair approximately 1/4inch from the edge around the circle. I do this for the large and medium circles. Then I stack those and top with the smallest set of circles and sew thru all 3 sets in a small X in the middle to hold them all together.

After I'm done, I wash them in my washing machine and run then thru the dryer to fray the edges, allowing them to look really full.

You can also add buttons or other embellishments to the centers after the washing and drying.

Hope you like them...I see many layouts and cards with these fun flowers in my future!!!

**If you have not had the opportunity to start the blog hop from the beginning, please be sure to go to this site, so you don't miss any of the AWESOME goodies we have for you all.**

Next on the BLOG HOP is Charlotte Dixon!!!

Party Girl

Tonight was my sister-n-law's birthday party. We had a house full of people and a great time. I made her a card. I am often guilty of buying cards because I wait to the last minute...but not this year!

I made 2 cards because a friend from water aerobic has a birthday this week also and I thought I'd at least make her a card. She's an older gal, but oh so sweet and I don't think she has much family around.

I used Cosmo Crickets "Girl Friday" line for both cards and the inspiration was from a card a gal at My Next Thirty Years made.

My Funny Valentine...

Finally...I can posts these lil cards and treats! I've been holding off for about a week now. Today is my local scrapping groups Valentine Party and I will be giving them away to my friends...So I can finally show them off (haha)
The first one is a treat box using card stock, ribbon and acetate(a transparency). I got the pattern and directions from Splitcoaststampers and just put a bit of my own spin on it.

The second is the Valentine I made for my friends. I am a HUGE cupcake lover...so I had to go with something that I both love and am known for!

Day by Day

Wow...it's already Wednesday! Where does the time go? I've worked on tons of things this week.
Monday I did several types of cupcake stuff for a swap I'm in...Tags, ATC's and felt.
Tuesday I went to a card class with a couple friends and made some awesome Valentine cards.
Today Ivy got out of school at noon...so I couldn't get TOO into a big project, but I did manage to make some little valentine boxes for the girls to give their friends next week!

Card Swap

A couple cards I made for a recent card swap. I did mine early - but one person flaked, so a friend and I split the task of making an extra set each - so the fellow swappers wouldn't be shorted on the swap.

Just a quick card...

Been working on some swaps alot recently and been wanting to play a bit. I don't stamp often enough...so I made this for fun.

new project and maybe adventure...

Yesterday I went to an all day crop with friends from 10am to 10pm. It was a nice break from running kids around all day - Chris got to do some dropping off and picking up. I spent my time at the crop doing some different thing, but one was making some Christmas cards. I know, I know - it's AUGUST! It's just never too early to get going. I'm thinking about building up a good amount of pre-made stuff and maybe trying selling on Etsy or a local craft show or venue. Not real sure yet, but can't hurt to build up some "stock". They are a little non-traditional, but I think they turned out cute.

Baby & Prego cards...

Went to a friends yesterday with our Scrap-A-Doodle group and made some baby cards while I was there. Used those $1.00 stamps sets that are so popular right now (from Micheal's & Joann's). Thought they turned out pretty cute...

Can it be true?

My youngest, shall we say "baby" will be 10 years old in just 16 days!?! She is planning a sleepover party with a few friends to celebrate. I was given approval to make the invites and me only instructions were to use bright colored paper....she liked what I came up with when she saw them after school today!

OnE mOrE dAy

Tomorrow is the kids last day of school before spring break...they won't resume classes until after Easter - so I spent today making my Easter teacher gifts while scrapping with my wonderful new friend Tonya. I got the idea for the Peek-a-Boo cards from my weekly newsletter from Splitcoast Stampers. Step by step directions can be found here. They turned out really cute and my girls can't wait to take them to their teacher tomorrow!

Love to a 9yr old...

Today I didn't get to do any crafting. Kate needed new jeans badly, so I picked her up at 1pm and we did a bit of shopping. So I thought I'd post a picture of my Valentine's Day card from Ivy. She made it in art class at school and was so proud! I look forward to making a scrapbook page with this photo soon.

Days gone by

I have decided to repost the photos lost when my original blog was deleted, but not to attempt to recreate every post. If you have a question about any of the designs or layouts, feel free to contact me!

This card was made using a sketch on a challenge at Feeling Scrappy!
This weeks sketch and Challenge...

Katie's paper bag album of her 14th birthday photos.
She took it to school to show it off to her friends and it was a big hit!

I made the girls handmade cards for the valentines gifts...they always love that.
They turned out pretty cute, so I took a picture!

The Soulmates page was made using a sketch at Page Maps website!

This page was made just to record my appreciation for Katie and was an original design.

Katie's BFF page was made as my entry into the "Be a Guest Designer" at Back Porch Memories.
It was also using a PageMaps layout as required by the Challenge!
