No real excuses for my disappearance in life and in blog world. Been busy, distracted, frustrated, locked up, wound up, moody, sad, and a gamut of other emotions. Trying to find my way back into the world seems such a simple concept, but oh how that is so different for me.

Time Flies

I can hardly believe it's been an entire month since I blogged. I have been sick twice and that sucked the wind right out of me for quite sometime. Surviving on Gatorade for 13 days was not the best.

I am finally back crafting again...I will have some things to post of the next couple days.

Yesterday I had a bit of fun, I went and got a new tattoo adding to my sleeve in progress.

I spent Tuesday at the Scrapper's Boutique, just like old times.

Surrounded by good friends, it felt nice to be there again. It's almost like my Cheers for Norm.

I had a pretty productive day. Finished the cover to an art journal of sorts..lol

*using a 10x10 piece of partially peeled cardboard, painted with silver and embellished with a few stones. I hand drew and hand cut/layered the font.

A little something

Well, this is the most creative thing I've done in 2011 so far. I made a new line for my Starbucks mug where you can personalize the inserts. I did it up for Valentines...I feel cheery each time I see it.

Today I'm off to the Scrapper's Boutique to have some fun and get some ideas out of my head and onto some paper! I'm looking forward to posting some new things soon, not that the holiday season has passed.

Have I mentioned my oldest baby daughter will be 17 in just 2weeks...this is sending earthquakes throughout my mind. This school year is 1/2 over and only one more year of her as a high school student, my mind can hardly comprehend it!

Reality bites sometimes, often it isn't pretty

This year I plan to be more honest in my scrapping. I feel led to show the realness of life. It isn't always pretty but it's our life the same. I don't feel like I can scrap pretty pages with only smiles any longer. There is alot of crummy stuff we deal with and I'm led to include some of that in my story/albums. We learn from hard times & mistakes. Sometimes we learn from others. Maybe we can learn something from each other this year.

It's be 15 days since I attempted suicide

for the 2nd time in 6 months

I spent 3days in ICU, 6 days in treatment &

I'm 7days out of the hospitals locked-down unit

that's my reality today.

And if you and I are REAL friends, none of that will matter.

I'd like to report Ivy is MUCH better. It took 2 trips to 2 different hospitals be we got the meds. she needed, she returned to school Monday and is very happy to be feeling better.

So much has happened in such a small space of time...I taught my 2nd class at Scrappers Boutique. I got a cute new little car. I'm working on some fun things for the new year and coming seasons. I also had a digital layout I made for Lollipop Press picked up by a magazine. (I'll be posting it Jan 15 - so be sure to come back and check it out!)

Just a few more stamping pretties to share with you today...I seem to have found my forgotten love for stamping!!!

Yesterday was unespectedly busy, if you a praying kind of person, say a little one for my youngest Ivy. She's had migraines for years, but recently had one for over 5days and it's not in the typical region migraines take place. I took her for a head catscan yesterday and we are awaiting results.

Finally had a little crafting time this weekend. These 2 cards were alot of fun to make.

The first is from My Favorite Things. This cute little princess would be great for cards, invitations or even gift wrap and tags.

This cute little lamb was alot of fun to make also. This stamp was from the Cat's Pajamas. It's another versatile stamp, fun for winter or several other occasions with it's several sentiments to select from in the set.

I used BoBunny paper on both cards from the line of A gift of love. Copics for coloring, Maya Road embellishments.

Yesterday was more in line for a "traditional" December Daily. My youngest sweet daughter made a batch of chocolate chip cookies for my husband and I, when we returned for some Christmas shopping! (I won't go into details on what they tasted like as you will tell from the photos it was the THOUGHT that counted.)

That same child has anxiously been waiting to put up the tree, she put it all together by herself (with a short delay of "find the burnt out bulb). She did a fabulous job and it was such a nice help for her to do it all for me! I typically do it all by myself...and well as usual my husband does this...

Ok yesterdays December Daily was quite unorthodoxed...lol! We spent 6hours at our favorite tattoo shop getting some work done on my hubby. I had planned to get something also, but it took so long I was already an hour late for a crop..lol

Well, today went much better. I decided to take my girls to the local Parade of lights. They were excited to go and I let them each bring a friend.

We arrived about 30minutes early. Got great seats, brought some snacks, lots of coats for bundling and it was a much better scene for my Dec. Daily day 2!!!!

Afterwards we stopped for drinks. Most of us got hot coffee or chocolate...but of course the younger girls got slurpees...cr@zy kids!

So it's time for the "big reveal" of what I've been working on for my new design team position for Lollipop Press! The December line is fabulous and versatile enough to be used for many holiday layouts.

The line is appropriately named "Santa Baby". I love the vibrant colors and cute plethora of elements in this kit. Here is my first (of many) layout using these darling images.

December Daily - reality style

Well, my album was all made in advance (I will take pics and post tomorrow). I was so excited yesterday to do our 1st "Event" for it....then all hell broke loose.

I found my Alice in Wonderland album (the one that cost me $65 to make) with a ranch dip lid on top of it...ruining an entire page. The child responsible went into a tirade first crying and by the time it was over telling me she hated me...lol!

There was no soda for my sweet husbands to pack in his lunch - heck, there was no meal either. I'll be honest...I got busy playing with friends and totally forgot to cook him something.

Child #2 had to work...so I felt bad to leave her out of the nights event, but in hindsight, she was probably the lucky one - haha!

We did eventually all calm down and around 9pm got the Advent stockings stuffed (by me) and all hung. This year Ivy will be odd numbers and Katie will be even.

2) they are for a design team and I can't release them yet.

This morning I am teaching a class for Scrapper's Boutique. It is called Page Candy...Flowers.

It is all about learning different techniques, making 5 flowers & students will leave with handouts that include both written and photo instructions to recreate these projects for their layouts, presents, cards and more!

Then I will become the student taking Copic 2 class from our own Jen Del Muro. This class focuses more on 3-4 color blending ...I'm super excited! I just love my Copics.

Then saving the best for last...I'm cropping tonight from 5-12am. Working on getting lots of Christmas presents done!

Productive weekend

I've attended 2 crops in 48hours this weekend. Both were productive and fun.

The 1st crop was a 24 hr crop at a local church that I attend about 3-4 times annually. I worked on a 3rd tree to my Christmas set, I'll post photos when it is complete.

The 2nd crop was at the store I am an instructor at "Scrapper's Boutique". It is seldom that multiple workers get to attend AND work on their own personal projects. Seems as if we are always creating or prepping to the next class...lol...but that's fun too! The Cherie and myself worked on our December Daily albums. Adair was hard at work creating her next mini album, Lynn was finishing up some Christmas gifts, and Susan was making some fabulously cute card samples!

I finished (for now) the cover of my Dec. Daily album. I used the Prima Canvas album and painted it with the Jenni Bowlin cough syrup paint dauber. I then used a Hedi Swapp mask and added a flourish with silver metallic paint. Fabric thickers painted with Jennie Bowlin malted milk also and then stamped with black ink with flourishes.The flowers were made using this fun die "rolled flower" from My Favorite Things and just backed on black felt to help them stand out.

I also purchased some digital journal cards by Ali Edwards and photoshop colored them and printed them each on cardstock so they are ready to go. All I have left is designing the pages...nothing like saving the hardest for last (haha!)

Christmas Centerpiece

Seldom am I ahead of the game when it comes to the holidays, but finally this year I seems to have mastered it a bit. After creating the Halloween Center piece "31" I decided to carry the idea over to Christmas.

Using the same craft paper, pre-made numbers, BoBunny paper and some fun miniature decorations this is what I came up with!

I completed mine on Tuesday and have even taken a couple orders to make them for friends.

Well, off to work on some more projects, a crafter's job is never done ;)

More Tree & button fun

I had a blast this past month making fall trees from the laser die cuts and covering pumpkins with buttons. I decide to combine the 2 for even more holiday fun with Christmas decorating only a few weeks away.

These tree were purchased at Michael's, they were just plain cardboard cones waiting for some love! I used Webster Pages, Waiting for Santa on the punch out tree and a Martha Stewart punch. I added stickles to the ends of each circle, a few pearls and a soft blue crepe bow to the top with a pearl in the center to finish it off.

The second tree was painted with a base coat of Jenni Bowlin malted milk paint dauber. I then began from the bottom of the tree covering it with ivory buttons with a few random turquoise ones spread throughout. I dripped a bit of diamond glaze around the buttons and then sprinkled the entire tree with Pink Paislee 'cream soda' pixee stix. I added a creme crepe bow tot he top with long flowing streamers and a few pearls in the center.

Feels like Fall

A couple weeks ago I got the opportunity to attend a scrapbooking retreat & I got to make some fun things for myself. One was this fun banner for my Fall decor. I was excited to hang it up the day after Halloween. Nothing makes me happier than fall colors and lots of glitter!

I made a second one in different colors for my mom. She has more of a shabby sheik decor in her home.

This banner was made using a Maya Road chipboard pennants & the paper is Apple Cider by Imagineisce. The other materials are as follows: Plain white crepe paper (streamers), Cricuted letter from Plantin Schoolbook, and Pink Paisley Brown glitter, 2yrd 3/4in. green crepe ribbon, 2yrds 3/4in brown crepe ribbon, orange & lime green cardstock.

Wow, this has been one busy week for me and all the instructors at Scrapper's Boutique as we prepare for Boutique Day this Saturday Nov. 4th from 10:30am - 2:30pm.

We will be revealing all the classes coming up for November & December. It will be a day full of excitement and fun. The majority of the instructors will be on hand to meet and visit with, we will be taking sign-ups for fall classes and even having a drawing for a fun Red Bo Bunny handbag! The best part is, the first 24 people who sign up for classes receive a FREE Bobunny Mini Album Kit.

Candy Crash

I'm sure teachers everywhere today are feeling the candy crash of students of all ages.

Last night my girls went trick-or-treating too. There are 16 & 12 ...it changes from year to year if they are participating or not.

We spent part of our afternoon carving the annual pumpkins. Katie picked an owl and Ivy picked "Grr" from a cartoon she likes. They decided this year they wanted to attempt the scored pumpkins instead of the traditional carving type. I think they both did quite well.

I'm still recovering from Friday night after allowing my 12yr old to throw a Halloween party/sleepover. They were funny to watch and listen to for about the 1st hour - lol!

We even had 4-5 party crashers arrive and start yelling my daughter's name from out front...the party moved outside for awhile, but no crashers were allowed inside. We did have 2 boys arrive after this photo was taken, one in a scary mask was so cute! The boys left at 10 and the scary movie marathon began. I slept almost all day Saturday trying to recover from the event. It may be a few years before we try this again (or never) ;)

Flower fun tutorial

I love making flowers and hair bows for my girls.

When they were young they never left the house without their hair being perfect. As they aged they cared less about their hair & even less about those flowers and bows.

Finally things have come full circle and they of course care VERY MUCH about their hair (at 12 & 16) and hair accessories have come back into fashion! Bows, clips, headbands, etc....

This is a new style of "flower" I learned recently in a class from the very talented Adair.

You begin with 8 large circles (I used scalloped circles on these pictures) you will also need 8 of the smaller circles and a layer of lace or tulle.

Taking one stack of circles at a time cut into them from on edge to the center (just a straight slit). Beginning at one edge you accordion fold the circle until it become a wedge shape - folding approx. 7 times, making 8 layers. I use hot glue to secure each until I am ready to attach them. Complete this step with both the large and small circles.

Once you have all your pieces folded and secured. You will begin to form a circle with the large circles gluing 2 together, then a 3rd, and as you add the 4th...you should have 1/2 a circle. They don't (and often won't) line up perfect, no worries....that will be covered up.

I then use a drop of hot glue to attach the layer or tulle/lace and set it aside as I build the smaller circle in the same way. Again building a circle and gluing it down to the lace/tulle layer.

I finish mine off with buttons, stones, knots and any other little items I find that match and look cute. My girls loves them and I've made quite a few for their friends too. I just glue alligator clips to the backs, but you can also add bar pins to wear them on a lapel or bag.

It's not Halloween quite yet, but these pictures are a bit scary!

I've had a few questions about my weight loss ticker on my blog.

Yes...I did lose 100lbs... Through Diet and Exercise only.

I started my lifestyle change in May 2009.

May 2010 I hit 100lbs. lost.

I have played with some pounds up and down over the summer,

but I'm still wearing the same clothes I purchased at my lowest.

My friends and I just started up a 3rd round of biggest loser, it will go thru the holidays and end mid January 2011.

Every little bit helps with motivation!

Quick and Easy mini album

This weekend I finished up this little album of out summer water park fun. Each section 2 pages/4 front and backs is made from a single sheet of cardstock.

I lined each flat page with a coordinating printed paper (this was BoBunny line Sun Kissed) using different edge punches to make each unique. I did triangles on each pocket page, also adding edge punching or corner punches. I used small tags to journal on and placed each in a pocket and attaches buttons or ribbons to the tag hole for easy access.

Making the pages are pretty simple...

Take a full sheet of 12 x 12 paper and score it at 6inches on each side. This will resulting in 4 - 6x6 scored squares.

Second cut one scored line from the edge to the center of the four squares (see dotted line)

Next using a ruler, score from the corner of the new cut line, to the corner diagonally from it, this will form 2 triangles on each of the flaps.

Alone that scored triangle line, crease the cardstock, forming a triangle. Using your tape runner or adhesive of your choice, glue the flap down to make that triangle double thick.

Next you will form the pockets. On flap #1 add adhesive along the triangle/pocket edge that will lay closest to the center scored line, that will be the fold in the page. Keep the adhesive as close to the edge as possible so you will have plenty room to use that pocket. On flap #2 you will do the exact same thing, but this time folding the flap backwards to the other side. After gluing it down, you will have one pocket on each side. This will be 2 pages, each side consisting of 1 pocket, 1 flat side.

The blue represents your pockets/flaps. But this is as if you can see thru the cardstock to see each sides pocket.

Recovering from my weekend

Who knew Retreating could be so tiring. I guess I should have allowed for more sleep time. It's very hard for me to stop when I'm on a roll but I paid for that last night. My sweet husband let me sleep in this morning till 10.

I made a small banner using the "lost and found" line by my minds eye. It turned out pretty cute. This shows it under construction and the glossy accents drying.

I got the opportunity to attend a scrapbooking retreat this weekend and jumped at the chance. Last night Lynn and I were up till 5am...(I was back up at 9am). Our time was super productive last night, checkout Lynn's cute lil pumpkin!

I've been surrounded by banners lately....I think I'm being dubbed the "banner gal"!

Well, it's here at my home... but it will be arriving before you know it on the calendar too!

I saw a cute idea recently and made it my own, using those paper mache type numbers. Most all craft stores carry the letters, I have only found the numbers at Hobby Lobby.

After painting the numbers and a small wooden base black, I just added in a few spooky accents. You could use a wide variety of those small party favor type items you find at all the discount stores. The raven, butterfly and hologram sticker were all found at Micheal's. Add a few cobwebs and a light layer of silver glimmer mist and you have a fun center piece. Mine will be on the food table at my daughter's upcoming Halloween party!

Banner Tutorial

After my recent post of banners, I had a few requests for more details...so here we go!

These banners were made via swaps with other scrappers, but could easily be done but one person with lots of creative juices flowing {lol}

The tags were sheets of 8.5 x 11 cardstock cut in half to form 2 - 4.25 x 5.5 Tags. I notched my corners 1inch in and 1inch down.

You create one tag for each letter in the word or phrase you want to spell on your banner. These were Happy Halloween - so 14 letters, plus one to start the banner, one to separate Happy from Halloween and one to end the banner. That made for 16 tags in all...thus 16 people signed up for spots in this banner swap. Each of those 16 people chose from the list of letters & dividers needed and created a tag and repeated it 15 times.

I've created several of this type banners on my own, but it does take awhile longer and I tend to stick to shorter words, as it can be challenging to come up with that many decorative ideas in one session. If you start early and have some real time to put into it, you'll have a wonderful banner you can use year after year.

I store these by folding them accordion style and placing them in gallon Ziploc bags.

I love all kinds of banners around my home. Halloween is always a fun occasion to decorate to me. I have multiple banners and seems to keep adding each year.

This banner is 3 years old. I made it via a swap

on 2peas in a bucket. I created the "W". I turned out to be a great piece and has held up well.

I also complete this banner in a swap too. This one I did the "Y". It's hung in a standard doorway from the entry way. It's always fun to see what everyone will do to decorate there piece.

This is my newest banner. It is made from fabric. Each member was to create an assigned letter from the "Happy Halloween". I made 14 - N's and 14 - A's. I got 2 complete sets of the letters as I was making one to share with a sweet friend.

The letter were to be made from Halloween fabric, a layer of batting and a contrasting color for the back sides. The each turned out wonderful. I'm almost out of doorways to make any more banners, but there is always room across the mantel!

I've been really into pumpkins this season. I tend to buy and make more each year adding to my collection. I find pumpkins are great items that plays double duty when it comes to decorating!

They are perfect for October as Halloween approaches, but can be left out to carry your decor through Thanksgiving. These are a few of my favorites..old & new!

Getting it done

This past weekend was busy but ever so productive. I went to a late night crop Friday and completed a project that I have long been waiting to do. I went to Canton a couple weeks ago (a local flea/craft type market) where I purchased three unfinished crosses. I painted the edges, covered 2 with paper that coordinates with my home and covered one with embossed metal. Once each was complete, they were gorilla glued together and will be hung in my living room very soon.

That is one consistent thing about scrapstachers at the Little Blue House. This week we were to bring 12 - 1x12 strips of papers. One set Halloween and one set Holiday or fall. It turned out to be great fun.

#2: I will be attending the Carrie Underwood concert at the AAC. I've been looking forward to this since attending the Adam Lambert concert several weeks ago with my "concert buddy"!

Busy Weekend

This weekend is going to be day busy!

I will be cropping late into the night with a fabulous group of women.

God has truly recently blessed me with a circle of friends who lift me up and steer clear of the drama factor. I somewhat feel like Jonah in that God wanted me to be in a certain place in my life and I've fought that for years, but through a whale of another kinda, I am right where I need to be for me.

Party Time!

My youngest daughter is excited to be hosting her 1st ever Halloween party!! She plans to invite some boys too, so it should make for an interesting evening of spooky fun.

I used the fun Bo Bunny Halloween line "Whoo-ligans". I'd been looking for just about any excuse to use this line of paper. She was thrilled with my invitation design and they are all tired, enveloped, addressed and ready to be delivered to her friends! I guess she's a bit excited :)

A change from the routine

Last week was a very busy week...Homecoming week for my teenage daugher's school. Monday was the parade (that her daddy kindly pulled her student concil float in). The following days were a bit of a blur involving baking 2 batches of brownies, 2 batches of chocolate chip cookies, 2 batches peanut butter cookies, mum building, t-shirt decorating, alumni cattering, football game, homecoming dance and SO MUCH MORE!

In my recent card making I've enjoyed alot of the current paper lines. With all truth be told I have to say this line of "B-day Bash" by Imaginisce is my most recent favorite. I love making birthday cards, and this line is so versatile. I've made adult cards, kids cards, men, women's and everything in between with this line. Seldom does it come along that you can create so many different items for a broad span of ages and sexes.

Throw in a little ribbon to hold the tag and a dimensional pop dot for the family sentiment and you have yourself a card that could be used for multiple occasions.

Last evening I attended a class called "scrapstashers" at The Little Blue House. The intent of the class it to make great items using things you already have in your scrapbooking stash! While this class has been around for quite some time, this was my first time to attend and I can honestly say I was NOT disappointed!

They provided the tree portion of the project for us (I actually purchased several more to use making gifts). Then we each cut out papers using the leaves that were cutout as patterns. Needless to say each of the finished projects looked different but they were all amazing! The cost of this class is only $5 and I think this was the best $5.00 I've spend creating a new decor item for my home ever.

If you are local I strongly recommend you make time in your schedule to attend one of these classes!

I'm soooo ready for fall and cooler temperatures. There is no better way to get that fall feeling than Friday night high school football & decorating for Halloween! This week I spend an afternoon crafting a new decoration to add to our yearly stash of spooky gear. No one will be too frightened by this fun project involving 3 frames, some patterned paper and LOT of glitter!

Everyone loved this little project and even my kids noticed it on the mantle after school. Hope everyone is having as much fun as I am preparing for fright night!

I took an instructional class Tuesday at Scraper's Boutique and fell in love. While they are a bit of an investment, you can get buy with just 2 of each color family when starting out. I made my first cards using them yesterday.

I'm actually ahead of the holiday for once this Halloween! I'm excited to start working on teacher treats today. Most parents stop sending gifts after elementary, but I send them thru High School. Those teacher deal with so much drama from the kids...I think they need a little boost more than ever.

Last night was AMAZING! I ran my first race, the Jingle Bell Run - in Dallas Texas.

My daughter's both attended with me. My oldest Katie volunteered (for service hours for graduation) and my youngest Ivy, ran with me (kinda...lol).

We arrived at the location at 5-ish, registered and got everyone where they needed to go. The forecast said 30%chance rain, and the temps were supposed to drop - so I have on long sleeve under armor, t short sleeve t-shirt, plus the long sleeve run shirt they gave me...with yoga pants.

I was SO overdressed!

Race kicked off at 6 - it went well. Ivy had already informed me that she wasn't staying with me, she was planning to win this race...lol. I met up with her at about 1/4 mile...she was already walking. I encouraged her and walked with her a few moments, and got her going again. I hated to just leave her behind...so I slowed and stayed with her and we finished together. Slower than I would have liked...but hey, she's only 11. I did give her fair warning that she would need to train before the next race...or I would leave her behind!

It was an awesome experience. We found out information on two more upcoming races here locally. Everyone was dressed so festive and fun...we even saw frosty was running!

This was such a goal for me... I am so grateful I pursued it and completed it.

I got an new bike this weekend...my hubby got one too, but mine is much cuter!

The girls are loving it...we went bike riding as a family both Saturday and Sunday!

This lil layout was created with a photo taken from the last weekend before school started and I ran a vintage action on it to give it a 70's feel. I used the Graphic 45 paper line "Domestic Goddess" and created a folded paper element for just a simple title of the date 9/09.

WOW - where on earth did the year go? I can't believe it is already October 1st today. I asked Katie to start narrowing down her Christmas present ideas this morning while we were on our way to school. December will be here before you know it!

So - so many things have been going on..trying to focus on myself while being a supportive mom to 2 tween/teen girls is a full time job to say the least. Between Student Council, club meeting, Trumpet playing, Girl Scouts, cell phones, taxi shuttling, and everything else in the world...hard for a mom to have a few moments to craft.

I did get a little time this week and this is one of my favorite most recent layouts of Ivy.

Mixed bag...

Yesterday was kinda a mixed bag for me... I won the biggest loser contest with the local scrapbooking group I organize "Creative Outlet". That was great, I knew I'd done well...but wasn't convinced I'd win, but I'm certainly happy about it.

I applied for something I didn't get...not the end of the world, but was kinda discouraged about it overall.

This morning was awesome...after a 4 week break, I got to return to my beloved water aerobics classes. I was so happy, I went to 2 classes (total workout 1 1/2) WooHoo! I love our teacher Anna...she is the ONLY reason I keep going back to the location. (lol...the story on that if for another day)

I'm just kinda mentally dragging from letting other peoples drama bother me. I know I shouldn't...I tell myself, it's their problem not mine, you can't make them all happy...but in the end, it still feels like a weight around your neck. I think there are some changes in store for after the holidays. For now...I'll try to put it out of my mind, put the happy face on and try to find pleasure in the good!

Crafty Weekend

Can you believe it will be September in only 2 days! I can't believe how fast this year has flown by for me, but on the positive side my birthday will be here soon -LOL!!

I know I haven't posted much lately, but I have been working on things...several just can be posted anywhere until they are used for their intended purpose...haha!

So here is a brand new 2 page layout - a RARE event for me these days. The pictures are from a few weeks ago when Katie attended a student council lock-in for team building. She had tons of fun, and gratefully her teacher/sponsor took TONS of pictures (yeah for a happy scrappy mom!)

How appropriate this layout is for today of all days! I took my girls back to school today -one at a time. Two separate schools. One at 7:45 and one at 9...Somewhere between the two trips I realized, this is the last year I will be taking Katie "back to school". Next year she will likely drive herself. I mentioned this too her in the car this morning, she sweetly said "maybe I'll let you drive me"...I told her I would probably just have to resort to stalking her from my own car, following her in traffic...haha! Sure is hard to see these babies grow all up and gain their independence.

I was at my local Micheal's this morning when I saw the new Pink Cricut by Provo Craft in stores for the 1st time. It is so awesome! I wish it came in the baby bug size also...as I've been wanting to buy one for crops (so I don't have to carry my big one).
I was selling for $399 and comes with 3 cartridges! A good deal, and supporting a GREAT CAUSE...Breast Cancer Awareness.

Tuesday I spent some time scrapping for FUN. These pictures were just taken a couple weeks ago at my brother's birthday party. It's gonna be a fantastic day I can already tell!!!
I went to my local Micheals this morning...snagged the new Martha Stewart loopy boarder. My friend (and Micheals employee) said the other location had the corner punch to match it...so off I ran to the next store. I found the ever-coveted DRIPPY GOO border punch I'd been dying for since it's debut last Halloween. Each store only received 6 this year

No wonder nobody can find it...Nobody but ME!!! {insert evil laugh}

I also picked up a 3rd punch that I'd been wanting too, as it was only $9.99.

The best part...I got to use a 50% off coupon on EACH and EVERY one of them!!! On my way home, I got a call from the store manager...she found the loopy corner punch I originally went there for...So I'm heading back after lunch to pick that baby up!

Wow, this summer has flown by! My kids start back to school in a little more than 2 weeks (woohoo) In all the hustle and bustle of back to school, football games, homecoming...Halloween will be upon us before we know it.

Here is a layout of my sweet lil Sassy in her pumpkin costume last year. She was a good sport about wearing it (but she was having no part of the hat). This years costume has already been purchased...a hot dog with mustard & ketchup!!! She will look so cute!

I haven't scrapped for "fun" in awhile. Today I sat down and using a Scrapbooks etc. sketch for inspiration did this lil layout of my daughter, Ivy and her pet gerbil.

Adornit Blog Hop

I just love swapping and on the great people I've met and wonderful projects I have gotten from all over the world. I'm currently in a swap over at 2peas that is Lollipop Flowers, based on the recent Prima style that everyone loves.

Making these embellishment are much more rewarding in my opinion, as you can make them to match whatever project your working on.

I've used the Prima design, but replaced the paper with fabric. By cutting 3 circles, 3 sizes it makes for a really full and fun flower. I use alternating fabrics/colors and each layer is 2 of that size to make them nice and thick.

I begin by sewing each pair approximately 1/4inch from the edge around the circle. I do this for the large and medium circles. Then I stack those and top with the smallest set of circles and sew thru all 3 sets in a small X in the middle to hold them all together.

After I'm done, I wash them in my washing machine and run then thru the dryer to fray the edges, allowing them to look really full.

You can also add buttons or other embellishments to the centers after the washing and drying.

Hope you like them...I see many layouts and cards with these fun flowers in my future!!!

I finished my Disney art dolls today! Can't wait to see all the little dolls I get in return. This was a time consuming project since each and every piece was hand formed - one at a time! I expect the rewards will be well worth it, as the group of ladies I am swapping with these are all 1st class gals!

Making bracelets and other jewelry and charms. these hemp bracelets are her newest project and I love how they've turned out. The lil charms she is weaving in have turned out super cute! I recently joined an online group of scrappers on 2peas who are all working on loosing weight. I thought it would be fun to use this project for that album. I love how it turned out so far. This week I finished up my most recent swap...INCHIES! A one square inch of some type of art, they can be used on cards, as embellishments on scrapbooking pages or tags...very versatile lil babies. My scrapbooking group does a swap with them every quarter.

I did stars and glitter stripes, a Tim Holtz eclectic style stamp with watercolor background and some clear dimensional glossy accents and rainbow squares (Roy G. Biv) topped with dictionary punched flowers and jewel centers. These were alot of fun.

Tonight was my sister-n-law's birthday party. We had a house full of people and a great time. I made her a card. I am often guilty of buying cards because I wait to the last minute...but not this year!

I made 2 cards because a friend from water aerobic has a birthday this week also and I thought I'd at least make her a card. She's an older gal, but oh so sweet and I don't think she has much family around.

I used Cosmo Crickets "Girl Friday" line for both cards and the inspiration was from a card a gal at My Next Thirty Years made.

That's the name of the newest swap I'm working on. You make 5 felt or fabric items and you get 5 back! I'm making lil coin purses. I'd never tried this patter before, but it turned out to be a great one. Really simple and fast, totally lined and easy to adjust the size smaller or larger.

Anyone who knows me WELL, knows I am NOT a jewelry fan!

Men hate it...lol...no easy gifts! I have my ears pierced twice, yet both remain empty except for family pictures or holidays (LOL) I seldom wear even my wedding rings, my hubby even bought me an anniversary band a few years ago...as a lure to get me to wear it more. I do put it on to leave the house, but it comes off before my shoes even when I return home!

Last year, a friend gave me this sweet charm and necklace, to fill with a picture of my daughter and the other side she made an insert saying "guard mom" (for Colorguard). I'd thought about it, but just never found the right photo. Today I finally got around to putting in a picture and I LOVE IT!!! I will wear it ALWAYS....(ok to every football game this season is more realistic) but that's an improvement!

There may be hope for me after all!

NOPE....It's Girl FRIDAY, one of my favorite new lines by Cosmo Cricket! I made this lil flip book album in a convention workshop at GASC last weekend. The class was alot of fun and taught by none other than STACI ETHERIDGE, fellow Texan and scrapbooker extraordinaire! She was a great teacher, very upbeat, but kept the instructions good from all levels of scrappers. (ok, except the ones behind us who decided about 5minutes in there were gonna "watch" instead of create"....what's up with that? I think they might have been "pretend scrapbookers").

Everyone who has seen the book LOVES it...My #1 fan on this creation was my daughter who gets to keep it, as I used it to record her Band Banquet event photos!

The local scrapbooking group I organize is doing a recipe swap for "Summer Recipes".
I finished mine early, thankfully! I'm typically an early bird...but lately been getting bogged down. I did a favorite recipe "Veggie Stuffed Peppers"....only 4 WW points for 2 halves...I can literally make a meal out of it! Hopefully the girls in the group will love it too.
